A Scaffold + A Home.

Project: A Scaffold Tokyo Home

Architect: Suzuko Yamada

Suzuko Yamada took a trip to Rwanda and sighted wild mountain gorillas in their natural habitat, improvising their house among the trees. It has initiated an idea of reconfigurability living home that is to use a main element of aluminium scaffold for maximum flexibility with lost of windows. All of these can be opened, allowing the inhabitants to step straight out into the garden on the first floor as well as providing access to two steel platforms on the second floor, which are propped up by the scaffolding to form balconies.
